1950s Claire McCardel Suit

$ 0.00
Dresses by Claire McCardell are always in demand, but rarely you will find a suit like this. This wonderful creation is a perfect example of McCardell's synthesis of form and function, as this suit is not just beautiful, but would have been (and still is) extremely comfortable and practice for the wearer. Made of a wonderfully woven cotton, or perhaps a silk/cotton blend, like a nubby linen with strands of black and white interwoven for a beautiful gray. The sleeves and lapels are accented with an equally wonderful black cotton linen. Every detail is well planned, from the roll up, raglan sleeves, to the big side pockets in both the jacket and the skirt, to the big black plastic buttons. The jacket is lined in black taffeta, the skirt is unlined with a metal zipper closure.
