.. Ken Scott: 1960s Velvet Dress

. .The more Ken Scott pieces I encounter, the greater my admiration grows. He is often dumped into the category of Pucci imitator, but I consider him more of an innovator. In fact, beyond Scott's use of bold color, and exceptional quality, I have never seen anything he has done that even resembles a Pucci. Ken Scott definitely has his own style..... take for instance this amazing dress. This is more like a Picasso than a Pucci.

..The fabric is a delicious rayon velvet that feels like silk velvet, but wears so much better. As you can see, the print is bold and vibrant, not the dress for a gal who wants to slink around unnoticed. If you put this dress on, you are surely going to create a commotion everywhere you go. All eyes will be upon you, literally and figuratively

..The cut of the dress is simple and clean. It has a nehru collar, that is adorable buttoned up, or opened up to show some skin as seen above. The buttons down the front are really a trip, and are perfectly suited for the dress. They are gold tone, with brilliant navy and turquoise enamel. The dress is fully lined in black silky nylon, actually, it is double lined, with a layer of thin cotton between the velvet and nylon, so the weight and movement of the dress is structured, yet fluid

condition: excellent, no flaws to note
