.. Jacques Heim: 1960s Suit

.. You may think of Jaques Heim as "The Great Innovator", or you may think him "The Great Imitator", but either way, you have to agree that he was one of the great post-war designers in France. His was not so much about creating a new design, but rather making designs he knew women wanted... so he may have borrowed ideas, really, they all did.

..This adorable suit reminds me of a cross between Chanel and Courreges. The styling is impeccable, the look is a classic. The fabric is a rich woven ribbed wool, both the skirt and jacket are lined in crepe silk. The color is a vivid tomato red. The jacket sports those beautiful domed, gold tone, hollow, half dome buttons. Every button remains, including the ones at the wrists. There are a few dings and scratches on the buttons, but those very minor flaws can only be seen up close. The cut of the skirt is adorable, with a expertly fitted waist, and a kicky flair to the knee. The jacket is a classic 60s look, borderline mod, very beautiful with the double row of buttons, the neat, pointed collar, and the big, stylish (working) pockets.
..The style of the dress is a classic, with simple, elegant lines that flatter the figure and make the wearer feel totally gorgeous. The bodice is fitted and very well constructed. The skirt portion has two huge pleats in the front, then several pleats in the back. There is a small, subtle bow in the center of the waist to tie it all together. The dress zips down the back (plastic zipper)
.. The label is the Jeunes Filles, Jacques Heim for I Magnin.
condition: very good, no flaws to note.
