.. Azzaro pieces are so rare and timeless, it is really difficult to attribute a date to this lovely dress. I am thinking this was made in the 1970s, or early 1980s.

.. It was not long ago that the world lost the genius of Loris Azzaro to cancer, but his memory will live on in creations like this.

.. The body of the dress is a heavy silk crepe, that is very sleek and sexy. The color is jet black, but I had to lighten the pictures a little so you can see the fine detail. Over the crepe is light as air silk chiffon that drapes over the bare shoulders, then swoops down over the hip, with the elaborate, sequin center piece tying it all together. The fine pleating and draping of the chiffon is a marvel, even the top of the shoulder is finely gathered on a tiny bit of boning so the bit of chiffon that covers the upper arm hangs perfectly.

..I am so enamored by this dress! It is almost hypnotic in its beauty and grace. It is in excellent condition, with nary a flaw to mention.
