.. Castillo : 1960s Organza Dress

..Spanish born Antonio Castillo moved to France in the early 1940s and made quite an impression on the French Haute Couture scene. He designed for Paquin, Chanel, and Piquet, then was asked to take over the the House of Lanvin in 1950. In 1962 he began designing under his own name.

This is a glorious work, circa the mid 1960s. It is made from a delightful cotton organza, embroidered with those delightful turquoise blue polka dots. The cut of the dress is very figure flattering, completely lined in silky rayon.

condition: Good. There is slight yellowing to the organza, but it is very slight
