.. Lilly Dache: 1950s Faux Fur Coat

..Lilly Dache began her career as a jewelry designer, then became quite accomplished as a milliner, and then wasrenowned for her witty books on style and glamour.

..Dache hats are pretty common, and highly collected. The men's sportswear from the 60s is pretty worthless, but it is very rare to find Dache women's clothing from this period, and I have never seen a Dache coat before.

..This beauty is made from a very thick and plush faux fur, imitation beaver or sheared mink I would say. It is trimmed with imitation white fox which is very detailed to look like the real thing. The coat is lined in the most luxurious taffeta, and the sleeves have a secondary lining at the wrist with light elastic to keep cold air from going up the arm... very clever. The coat closes with three beautiful black plastic buttons that have molded "jewels" as part of the decoration. There are two side velvet lined pockets as well. The details of this coat are far better then most real fur coats I have seen.
