.. Belinda founded the fashion house in the 1950s and was joined by David Sassoon a few years later. In the mid 1980s Belinda retired and Lorcan Mullany jumped in, thus creating the Belville Sassoon Lorcan Mullany fashion house. British Chic is what they are famous for, and this jacket is a prime example of their classic style. The traditional red tartan plaid is updated with a boucle texture and shiny black eyelash type fibers that add a bit of sparkle. The big frog closures (with a hidden zipper behind them) are also quite fabulous, as is the black velvet collar and cuffs. The cut brings to mind a riding jacket, but a good bit more sexy.
