.. I always have a hard time dating these folk pieces, they changed so little over time. I imagine this dates to the mid 20th century, based on the fabric and the condition.

.. The tunic is made from a very light, almost sheer gauze like fabric, probably linen or cotton. The embroidery wall all done by hand, apparently with cotton thread. Its a long, straight cut tunic, known traditionally as the Cămaşă dreaptă. It would have been worn with an apron tied at the waist. Today it would be fabulous on the beach, or worn with a wide belt for a hot day in the city. The super deep V neck adds a very sexy touch to a classic look.
