.. This is an ultra sexy Balenciaga creation. Dutch designer Josephus Thimister, (who just returned to the Paris runways after a 10 year hiatus to rave reviews for his blood stained 1915 Russian collection) was the head of Balenciaga at the time. This dress shows Thimister's modern, clean style.

.. The bottom portion of the dress is a thick ribbed woo/rayon that brings to mind classic Alaia. The bodice is a silk/cashmere, very fine jersey knit. The skirting is very form fitting, the bodice is blousy. The sleeves taper tight to the lower arm alowing for the draping down the arm. It is a very dramatic looking dress.
