.. This is a dreamy delight. It probably dates to the very early 1920s, as it still has a slightly Victorian look with the high collar. Its a shame there is no label, as it was obviously made by a very creative designer, and the quality and artistry is of top French Haute Couture.
.. Its a very interesting style as the front pieces come down from the shoulders to meet in the center with a little hook, then the sides draw back around the waist to tie in the back with satin ribbon. This fabric is silk tulle, completely covered in tiny, clear sequins to the waist, and from the waist down the tulle is decorated with bouquets of swirls and leaves. As you can see, from the shoulders down the back is spectacular. The high neck is lined with layers of silk chiffon, and is accented with a delightful, silk rose.
.. I imagine this was a wedding creation, as it is in such superb condition. It was most likely worn once and lovingly stored since. A modern bride would be magnificent in it, but it could also be worn as evening wear.
..There is just a tiny bit of shattering of the silk chiffon lining at the neck. The cape is totally wearable and wonderful
condition: very good
.Length down the back 38"
