| .. Madeleine de Rauch: 1950s Wood Print Dress | |||
|
.. I just adore this dress. Its unlike any dress I have ever seen. The fabric is beautiful silk, printed in wood grain! It is so unique and beautiful, its like something you would expect from Issey Miyake or Martin Margiella, but it is completely unexpected from a Parisian couturier. I guess even the hoity toity can have a whimsical streak. The dress was manufactured by Mendel, but don't think for a second that this is not couture quality. Everything about this dress is couture quality! All the edges are hand finished, the lining was sewn in by hand, the button holes were done with the skill of a Balenciaga or Dior... its just magnificent!
