.. This dress is so timeless and lovely. Made of pure Chinese silk, it has both a vibrant color print of butterflies, but also the fabric has a jacquard pattern of geometric shapes, flowers and scrolls. It sounds like a lot, but the pattern is subtle.  There is also a bit of silver paint sprayed very lightly on the black areas.

.. The construction of the dress is quite remarkable. From the empire waist to the hip line there long pintuck pleats, from the waist down the pintucks open to make deep pleats.

.. The shoulder straps, bodice and skirt are adorned with cut out butterflies, hand finished in red silk thread.
