.. This is a classic Halston wrap dress made from only one piece of fabric. Halston was a bit of a genius you know and he took great pride in creating these very special dresses that seem very simple but are actually extremely well designed.. like architecture really. The only seams are under the arms and down the sides where the fabric meets up with itself to make the dress.

.. The fabric is rich, purple velvet, either silk or silk/rayon. It is a fabric fit for a king. It is so dark it looks nearly black, then you get hits of electric purple when the light hits it right. Its really quite something. It is fully lined in lilac silk and could be worn as a coat or a dress. The waist is elastic, with the separate belt worn over. There are two large hooks at the waist to secure it closed.
