| .. Leyna Beauvilain : 1940s Ball Gown | |||
|
.. I know nothing about Leyna Beauvilain, but I do know about Place Vendome in Paris. This 17th century wonder is now home to businesses such as Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Boucheron, Charvet, Chaumet, Buccelati, Piaget, Armani, Guerlain, Schiaparelli, and the Ritz Hotel to name a few. It is a "neighborhood" of luxury and great taste. 1 Place Vendome is now home to Hotel de Vendome, and was a hotel at the time this gown was made. I have been in touch with Hotel de Vendome, and they have never heard of Beuvilain, nor do they have a history of a dressmaker ever at that location. The only other reference I can find is a wool jacket by Beauvilain at the Muse Marsil in Quebec so for now, this amazing dressmaker will remain a mystery.
