.. No, this is really not considered a vintage piece. It probably dates to the early 1990s, but aside from its age, it is totally Swankworthy.
..It is labeled as a "sample" with a handwritten code. Perhaps it was a runway piece. It certainly is fabulous enough to have been.
.. The fabric is a luscious wool broadcloth in jet black. The front closes with silver snaps. The female side is just one row, the male side is 2 rows. The back has several heavy silver zippers that open from both ends. The center zipper stops in the middle so it opens from the top down, the middle up, the middle down, and the bottom up. You can wear it totally open in the back, open to the waist, open from the waist down, or completely closed. You can also open the sleeves shoulder to wrist, or wrist to shoulder. Just amazing!!
.. Aside from the obvious flash of the silver, the more subtle details like the superb cut and the intricate piecing of the fabric is really what makes this special. This is a must have for the serious Yamamoto collector
