.. 1900s Beaded Purse

..I believe the frame and chain  handle is lucite.  I have never seen this type of pattern before... it looks like faux abalone or stone, but its definitely not a natural material.  It is beautifully crafted, the closure was made by bending the two little knobs forward... the whole thing is smoothed and polished, and terribly gorgeous.  The chain is a faux tortoise.

..The beading is lovely. Its not micro beaded, more like your average seed bead.  The pattern is very deco, in that deep sapphire blue, black and the pastel pansies are edged in cut silver beads (not sure if they are real silver or not).

.. The purse is lined in gray silk file, with a little pocket inside.  The ruffle finish makes me think this purse is French in origin.

condition: This purse is in very good condition, with the exception of the looped fringe at the bottom which has come loose here and there.  The rest of the beadwork is excellent, the frame is perfect and the lining is perfect as well

.. The purse measures 7 1/2" from the top of the closure to the bottom of the bag, not counting the fringe. Side to side of the frame is 6 1/2"  The chain rises 8 1/2 from the top of the frame.
