.. Ever wonder what a beaded Halston top like this cost back in the day. Having found this thrilling top, I was shocked to find the $3,175 tag from I Magnin... and that was back in the late 1970s or early 1980s. Considering you could get a brand new Toyota Corolla 4-door sedan for $5,400 in 1980, this top was quite an extravagance. Its mind-blowing to think someone paid so much for this fabulous top and never even wore it.

.. Made from 100% silk, it is completely covered in glass beads, tiny faux pearls and emerald green and silver sequins. The sequins are sewn flat , but much of the bead work is actually fringed so this top not only has shimmer, but it has a great shimmy. All the edges are adorned with thousands of silver bugle beads. There are so many beads, this top weighs a full three pounds. This is not your average Halston sequin top!
