..I come across beaded jackets from time to time, but never have I seen one so exquisite before. This is not your run of the mill, 1960s, made in Hong Kong item. It is a couture piece, probably French, dating to the early 1950s.
..
The fabric is an amazing printed silk satin. The print brings to mind a Gilbert Adrian design I once had. The jacket is covered in hand applied seed beads, sequins, jet beads, cut crystals and prong set rhinestones. The level of artistry, and the amount of work that went into the beading of this jacket is mind blowing.
.. The jacket has no closures, made to be worn open. It is fully lined in a silky, black fabric. This jacket is beautifully tailored, with raglan sleeves, and 7" slits up the sides.
