.. Handwoven: 1970s Coat


.. To me it is as much a thrill finding handmade artwear such as this as it is finding vintage couture. I find a coat like this fascinating.

.. The fibers used are raw cottons, flax and wools that are surprisingly soft and supple. It is composed of 2 layers of the fine, brown, woven cotton with some sort of cotton batting in the middle. It is cuddly and warm.
.. All the decorative yarns were hand applied. All that fringe on the back is actually sewn onto the coat, with a stitch every 1/4 inch or so. There are no closures (no buttons, no hooks, no zippers) This coat is Hippie Chic to the maximum.
condition: EXCELLENT, with not a single flaw to mention.
