..This pretty cap has a very flapper look, but since Mr John did not start his own label until 1948, I would say this hat was created in the early 1950s. It is the strict Mr. John label, not the Jr, or the classics so I do beileve it is an early, couture work. This hat reflects his legendary "Holywood Glamour". It is a darling piece, made of rich black satin, covered with jet black (possibley jet, or glass) faceted beads and black studs. I have gone over it several times and I see no areas where beads or studs are missing... it is in fabulous condition.

.. Because of the cap style, it would fit a varity of adult head sizes. My head is pretty big, and it fits fine and my dummy head is smaller than average and it fits beautifully as well. This hat came with several hand written tags inside which can easily be removed, but I like to keep things as is when it adds to the interest of the piece.
