..Spanish designer Pedro Rodriguez designs are extremely hard to come by. They are so rare not many vintage collectors have them, though the ones in the know actively seek them out, as his timeless style and enduring elegance is always in vogue.
..This dress is a vision of loveliness. Just look how beautiful the floral print is, you can almost smell the rare lilies in bloom. The design of the dress shows Rodriguez's Spanish heritage with that dramatic gather and flounce at the waist that so reminiscent of a flamenco dancer's dress. The bodice closes in the front with four sets of four silk covered buttons that show open gaps between the sets, so you will show a little skin. There are also little buttons at the wrist. There are intricate darts on the sleeves, and all the rough edges were hand stitched.... very couture indeed.
..There are several tiny pinholes in the silk, where the previous owner must have placed a broach. One set of holes is on the left upper chest, and another set is on one arm. When I noticed the holes I immediately thought that little butterfly or bee pins encrusted with diamonds would be so pretty adorning this dress. The holes are tiny, and do not effect the beauty or wearability of this rare dress. There is also a very faint water stain on the left sleeve, again, it is very faint and is not considered to be a significant flaw that would deter anyone from being proud to wear this dress.
